As a Senior MHE (Material Handling Equipment) Technician, your primary role is to oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of material handling equipment used within a warehouse or distribution center.

Requirements

2. Troubleshooting and Repairs : Identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions, breakdowns, or mechanical failures promptly and effectively.

This includes diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues, as well as repairing or replacing faulty components or parts.

3. Preventive Maintenance : Implementing a proactive maintenance program to perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including lubrication, belt changes, filter replacements, and system adjustments.

This helps to prevent unexpected breakdowns and extend the lifespan of equipment.

4. Safety Compliance : Ensuring compliance with safety regulations by inspecting equipment for safety standards and maintaining accurate documentation of maintenance and repair activities.

Reporting any potential safety hazards or concerns to management.

5. Team Leadership : Providing guidance and training to junior technicians, assisting with complex repairs, and overseeing their work to ensure proper procedures are followed.

Additionally, coordinating with other departments, such as operations and engineering, to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.

6. Inventory Management : Maintaining an inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for repairs and replacements.

Coordinating with vendors or suppliers to order necessary items and maintaining proper tracking and documentation of inventory usage.

7. Continuous Improvement : Identifying opportunities for process or equipment improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and safety.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and test new technologies or equipment upgrades.

In this role, strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems is essential. You should also possess troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Effective communication and leadership skills are crucial to collaborate with team members and provide guidance. Additionally, familiarity with warehouse operations and safety standards is important to ensure a productive and safe work environment.

Qualifications

1. 1 years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience

2. Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field

3. 5 years of experience working with automated conveyors and controls.

4. Work a flexible schedule / shift / work area, including weekends, nights, and / or holidays.

5. 5 years of experience with electrical and electronic principles, National Electrical Code (NEC), and industrial electronics.

6. 5 years of experience conducting preventative maintenance.

7. 5 years of experience reading blueprints and schematics.

8. 5 years of experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs.

9. 3 years of work order management.

10. 4 years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field. Previous leadership experience Previous vendor management experience.

Experience with robotic maintenance.
